Meghan Ferriter

Project Coordinator, Smithsonian Transcription Center  

Dr. Meghan Ferriter is an interdisciplinary researcher who currently cultivates programs of engagement and advises on workflow in crowdsourcing projects. She works closely with multiple museums, archives, volunteers, and partners to balance objectives of historical and citizen science projects. Meghan’s recent research explores collaboration in digital platforms, crowdsourcing best practices, and communication via media discourse. She holds an M.A. in History from Old Dominion University and a Ph.D. in Sociology awarded by the University of Glasgow. She is interested in the transformative power and consequences of computer-mediated communication, participatory culture, and knowledge-sharing; and she learns something new every day.
